“My name is Grecia Ardiles and I am a first-generation junior at Binghamton University majoring in computer science. I was born in Lima, Peru and came to the USA when I was less than a year old. I am an extremely driven and passionate student in succeeding in the tech field and have had three internships at Argus Information and Advisory Services, Petal, and RoadToHire. Through these experiences, I have found an interest in the Front-End Programming and User Interface and User Experience Design field. Thankfully, through the Golden Doors Scholarship, I was able to go to Binghamton University with a full-ride and am currently living off-campus. The scholarship does not cover rent or transportation expenses and that is what I am currently fundraising for.”
“As a full-time first generation student at Binghamton University I aim to to take advantage of everything the university has to offer such as clubs, career days, events and more to wide my networking circle and also gain experience. Additionally, I am currently living off campus and make meals for myself that will give me enough energy throughout my day. Although, it may not seem as too challenging, I have created a plan and schedule to be able to manage all of these activities to be the most productive as possible. I am fundraising to help me pay for rent, groceries and transportation because although I have some money saved up to help me out with this I want to be stress-free when thinking about these things.”
